“At the beginning of each creation, there is an unrealized image. This inner landscape allows the choreographer to create a material that she then evaporates to reveal an outline of the void, “this unexpected void that fulfils all our expectations”. On stage, with other performers, Nacera Belaza searches for the paths that will lead each of us to the abandonment of fears and resistances, to the renunciation of the body and of all knowledge, to the acceptance of failure as liberating. Proceeding by subtraction, she signs pure pieces for which she composes the choreographic, sound and light scores. Like tuning an instrument, the artist harmonises those who dance and those who watch, the perceptible and the imperceptible, to the same frequency. Following L’Onde, presented at the Festival d’Automne in Paris in 2020, Nacera Belaza is, with this creation, at the very place where her research has always led her, where the unmanageable brings about the unforeseeable, another possibility.”
